Of all the new evidence to emerge from the first night of the January 6 hearings, this quote appears to be the biggest. The one that, rather neatly, captures Donald Trump's support for the Capitol attack, as well as the seething vengeance that animates just about everything he's ever done in life.
According to a series of posts he left on his struggling social media platform, our TV-addled former president appeared to have watched the hearing, specifically lashing out at Bill Barr's closed-door testimony and even lightly dinging his daughter, Ivanka, whom he accused of having long been "checked out" by the time the pro-Trump mob came to town. Trump also denied ever saying "hang Mike Pence."
Gee, I forgot how mad Trump can be so early in the morning! One has to wonder why he didn't choose to tune in to the commercial-free, hate-filled, alternate reality offered by Tucker Carlson instead. Well, whatever the case, all of this adds to what we already know. And that's damning enough.
